    • Professional Profile - Michael Charles Gorman BSc PMP

      I have been consulting in project environments for most of my career. I started as a software tester and technical writer for CAD/CAM software development projects in the late eighties, and soon after became involved with opto-mechanical mechanical and DSP based electronic engineering projects. By the mid nineties, I had begun working with project teams creating multi-tier and distributed systems for financial applications development, banks and a supply chain consortium. My role expanded from that of a technical writer to a knowledge-base developer, web publisher, data and business analyst.

      After the dot com bubble burst, I consulted with GE Industrial Systems as a business analyst and technical consultant, developing an XML/XSLT toolkit for translating automobile order forms and completing the process design for order sequencing software controling on Land Rover's assembly line. I consulted with Charles River Consultants in New York, working with its CEO on developing formal project proposals, managing web development projects, developing telecommunication service offerings, and writing RFTs to outsourcing software development for companies/products that organisation had acquired.

      I moved to Australia in early 2005 and was engaged as a consultant mananging software development projects for the Nurses Board of Victoria (continued..)

Business Process Integration

Project Studio Consulting provides business analysis and integration services in the same areas where we provide project management services.

Often it is advisable for an analysis to precede a project to determine the need, document business processes “as is,” and produce a report or recommendation in order to best determine what changes, if any, are needed.

For example, you may wish to authorise a preliminary project to perform a needs analysis, feasibility study, or scoping analysis. The results of this preliminary project can then be used to create a list of alternative projects, from which you may then select as appropriate to that need.
