Portfolio - Michael Charles Gorman BSc PMP

On the web pages referenced below, you can see the projects I have been involved with. The products produced have lasting value, and the community continues to benefit from the good work done. All credit to the splendid professional teams which I am proud to have been a member of.

University of Western Australia, Perth WA

Provided client-side project management to UWA for the Directories Consolidation and Identity and Access Management projects under Information Services Business Investment Programme. These projects supported the new Future Frameworks course structure and the University's drive to Student Mobility 2012

Directories Consolidation Project: Design, Development and Implementation Stages. This project developed a central Active Directory to consolidate all other Active Directories at the University and integrated with DFS file storage, student printing, external DNS/DCHP solutions, and the Identity Management Solution. Brought the project deliverables to technical implementation and brought organisational preparation to readiness for phased roll-out of Student Mobility (scheduled to start November 2011)

Identity and Access Management Project: Design and Development Stages. This project developed an architecture based on Forefront Identity Manager to provide a central repository of identity data consolidating identity information from authoritative sources (Alesco HR, Callista SMS, Oracle, Unicard and various Active Directories) and disseminated this information to the University's key downstream systems.

BHP Billiton Iron Ore, Perth WA

Provided supplier-side project management to BHPB Iron Ore for their 1Portal Dynamic Content Migration selecting a strategic solution replacing Iron Ore’s GSAP reporting portal with a 1SAP compliant solution.

The solution took a Service Oriented Architecture approach to links management. Simple URL-based links, embedded in a 1SAP iView or Business Critical Document, are managed by a workflow-driven back-end web service. This service rewrites and forwards configured requests to the targeted reporting system to establish connections that the simple link cannot create on its own.

The project evaluated capabilities of different enterprise service platforms for the solution, including
WebSphere 7 and SharePoint 2010 as a basis for development of the back-end service and front-end navigation features. The project completed detailed planning for remaining definition and execution phases.

Althought the project execution was delayed by Iron Ore, the SharePoint approach developed for this project was appropriated for implementation by Alumina Worsley to meet identical objectives and constraints.

Editure Technology, Melbourne VIC

Also managed development of identity management system integrated with the portal through JBOSS Enterprise Service Bus with XML-based business process management (workflow), email/calendar (Zimbra) and reporting service based on open source Jasper Reports

This project created a formal project plan, a formal request for tender, implementation plan, functional specification, phase breakdown, and stage plan for execution. Project was formally closed due to the pending COAG-NRAIP registration scheme now subsuming all state health practitioner boards nationally.
