Upskilling your project management and development teams in modern best practices is essential to accurately track progress and safeguard Return on Investment.
Modern project management techniques allow programs to manage Agile development within a traditional project delivery framework, helping the client satisfy due diligence considerations and successfully chart a course through changing business conditions and disruptive emergent technologies.
Some tools may be nominally in place, but are often ineffective as a process. For example, most projects will maintain a Risk Register. However are these risks owned? Are they monitored? Are risk mitigation actions integrated within the project management plan, with resources assigned and their time budgeted?
There may be other gaps in your organisation's project management practice, due to lack of training or experience. Or, your project teams may be involved in a level of process inappropriate for a given project’s size. Other gaps can result from conflicting agendas and priorities, or unclear governance.
If the benefits of project management haven’t been realised at your organisation — despite attempts to ‘do’ project management — then I strongly encourage you consider my services.
Targeted workshops can be brought into a project as an aspect of Project Assurance, or into a program of work as an aspect of Quality Assurance. Coaching sessions and mentoring, for individuals or groups as appropriate, is available to follow up these workshops.
At the executive or program level, key success factors for successful delivery can be brought into play such as establishing effective Project Governance and Change Management strategies that help to protect mission critical programs from political strife and tame unspoken ‘elephants in the room.’
Of course, I am also available to initiate new projects, or complete delivery of projects already in flight.
